Chinwe is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager Total Nigeria Plc. She is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the affiliate’s CSR initiatives in line with Total Group’s societal approach policy. She also creates and executes the annual societal development strategy for Total Nigeria Plc.
Tell us about your experiences since joining Total.
Since joining Total Nigeria in 1999, I have worked in different capacities as Training Manager, Travels & Protocol Manager, Communication & Events Manager, and Category Manager (Shops). Presently, I am responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility. My experience in these roles has transformed me to become what I call the Total woman equipped with 360 degree knowledge of the company; this I cherish and cannot trade. It has earned me an invaluable knowledge of Total‘s culture and values, and these have instilled in me the right mindset for achieving goals.
What can you tell us about yourself? Any interests or hobbies?
I have a master’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies which influenced my decision to get involved in societal development. You can call me a people person because of my deep knowledge of human relations and good sense of humour. I also have a natural flair for languages and love playing squash.
How does your role assist Total and their commitment to better energy?
My role as the CSR Manger greatly supports Total’s commitment to better energy through my implementation of the company’s societal development strategy. This focuses on creating and implementing initiatives that improve access to better energy, road safety awareness, quality education, better health care, and fosters local and economic development. I am also responsible for optimising such initiatives in a manner that clearly illustrates that Total’s strategy is centred on respect, listening, dialogue and stakeholder involvement.
