TotalEnergies Celebrates Arts at MUSON Festival

A rendezvous of live music performance serenaded the audience at the TotalEnergies Gala Concert of the 25th Musical Society of Nigeria, MUSON Festival.

With his magnificent and exhilarating body movement, the renowned Conductor, Michael Volhardt, led the MUSON Symphony Orchestra to perform an array of classical music on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

In his address, the Managing Director, TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited, Mike Sangster underscored the company’s love for the arts and its support to diverse arts and cultural activities over the years.

“As we have indicated in the past, this MUSON heritage of pitching Nigeria’s art and culture resonates with us as a company that has invested some considerable “energy” in drawing global attention to world-class talent in the country especially in the arts,” said the MD who was represented by the Executive Director, Finance & Control/Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Tai Oshisanya.

Mr. Sangster highlighted the company’s sponsorship of World Music Day, Nollywood Film Festival, Egwu Ogba festival, annual exhibition of Nigerian art in Port Harcourt, among others as part of the company’s commitment to the development of arts and culture.

The Executive Director, Strategy, Business & Asset Management, Mr. Abiodun Afolabi and HR Adviser Deepwater Tech. Services, Mr. Gboyega Akeredolu and their spouses were among staff and family members at the Gala night. Mr. Oshisanya attended the concert.

Expressing his appreciation to TotalEnergies for its support through the years, the MUSON Chairman, Louis Mbanefo remarked: “I am happy we had a hybrid festival this year. It’s a mini festival; especially with the ease of restrictions due to COVID. The performances have been excellent. I thank you for the support you’ve given to MUSON and I know you will continue to give it.”

Organisers of the 25th MUSON Festival reduced the traditionally one-week ceremony to four days and adapted to a hybrid, in view of the COVID-19 restrictions. TotalEnergies has consistently sponsored the last day of the MUSON Festival, with a Gala Concert.
