Seek Ways of Reinventing – Sangster tells NAPE

The Managing Director/Chief Executive of Total E&P Nigeria Limited. Mike Sangster has advised the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, NAPE to, “Adapt to a post coronavirus world and seek ways of reinventing the association for the purpose of continued relevance.” 

He made this remark at the monthly technical presentation of the association sponsored by Total E&P Nigeria Limited. The virtual meeting was held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. 

“It is important to look ahead to a post-COVID-19 world. Our experience during this pandemic has shown that some of the adaptations and innovations brought about by this scourge will remain with us for a long time if not indefinitely,” remarked the MD who was represented by the Executive General Manager Deep Water GSR & Planning, Olatunji Akinwunmi. 

Total’s Geophysics and Geology Manager, Egina GSR, Eric Tawile delivered the presentation titled - Geological Facies Modelling: Why Should We Care to over 350 participants. 

Mr Tawile gave the reasons why Facies Spatial is important and recommended Proportion cubes as a remarkable tool among other details. His presentation generated questions from participants and was appraised as an excellent presentation. In his response, Tawile remarked: “It was my pleasure to share my experience with all of you today and I want to extend my warm thanks to NAPE team and Total for the opportunity.”

Earlier, the Chairman, NAPE Technical meeting, Abiodun Adesanya read the profile of the presenter and reviewed his presentation. 

In the vote of thanks, NAPE President, Alex Tarka said: “I want to sincerely extend the appreciation of NAPE executives for this wonderful sponsorship. We did not expect less than what Eric delivered.”

NAPE holds its monthly Technical meeting to keep members abreast of developments in its sector.
